You can’t even get a SIM card without paying over the odds and without furnishing identity documents that you don’t even have.

Telemesh — Blockchain Messaging app quarterly update, March 2019

On December 10th, 2018, W3 Engineers was selected by UNICEF Innovation Fund to develop an offline messaging app for use by refugees. Since then, we have undertaken a course of activities and reached many significant milestones. As we are wrapping up the first quarter of the year, let us walk you through the last three months.

UNICEF Invests In Six Emerging Market Blockchain Startups

The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) will invest in six blockchain projects in emerging markets through its Innovation Fund. Each project will receive up to $100,000 to develop an open source prototype over the next year.

W3 Engineers: Developing an open-source messaging solution providing connectivity in remote areas

We are creating a refugee camp messaging application, using a mobile mesh networking technology. Refugees will be able to send direct messages to each other, and the app will provide capabilities for emergency broadcasting and critical message delivery between NGOs, aid workers, and the refugees. This app aims to help make communicating with loved ones affordable and accessible to everyone.
